Persisting to an acceptable end point may produce a work of art....be it painting, music composition or writing. It is, of course, possible to then leave the art in a drawer.
But it is also possible to show it to someone. Not all artists want to show any of their art, and some only want to show some of it. But that "showing" can be an important milestone.
The art can be glanced at cursorily in passing
It can be looked at and provoke little comment.
It can be looked at and exclaimed about with interest.
It may evoke an intake of breath, or a 'wow' moment.
It may occasionally provoke tears
It may, rarely, produce a moment of bonding and understanding - a shared experience between the artist and the viewer. A confirmation. Nice when it does!
