LEMON HILL GALLERY WELCOMES YOU

Celebrating creativity, resourcefulness and the human spirit

ABOUT THE GALLERY

Lemon Hill Gallery is a small gallery in a shipping container on a farm in East Gippsland. It is approached off the bitumen, on a gravel road!

Our address: 158 Lemon Hill Rd, Wairewa. Victoria.

There is no charge for visiting, or for exhibiting in  the gallery and there is no commission on a sale. Sales take place between the artist and the buyer.

The container was donated after the 2019/20 bush fires and the gallery is

situated on the site of the burnt shed with a 360 degree  view of  the Wairewa valley and the state forest.

Exhibitions change every 4 weeks and the Gallery is closed in January and February. If you would like to exhibit here please contact me.

The first exhibition "Christmas in a Container"  by Merilyn Flynn was featured on ABC TV at Christmas time 2020.

OPENING HOURS

Come Visit

The gallery is open on Sunday afternoon from 2pm  to 5pm when a cup of tea or coffee and lemon slice (usually!)  will be available.

It can be viewed at other times by arrangement. Night viewing has a certain charm. The night is black and the lights are dramatic on a farm far from street lights.

All welcome!

Faye Colls is a Melbourne artist, with a Bachelor Creative Arts (Hons) from Deakin University who works in oils, watercolours,  ink, and pencil. At the core of her illustration practice is "the belief that visual narrative is an important discipline by which imagination is transported to reality." She is "known for her love of children and crazy about projects that give children a soaring spark of hope, encouraging imagination and teach the art of adventuring."

For this exhibition she has chosen pencil sketches on moleskin "that illuminate the small fleeting moments in time that cement a deep connection between and grandparent and a grandchild. The pencil sketches are simplisitic and devoid of colour and usually depict subjects from behind, or looking away. They seek to evoke a personal memory of feelings that cannot be captured by a camera."

They are charming!

DIRECTIONS

Please note that your GPS may direct you a long rough way to get here and our  private drive is often incorrectly labelled as Five Mile Road. I have complained to Google Maps twice but to no avail.

From Lakes Entrance drive east to Nowa Nowa and continue on Princes Hwy for 6kms.  Turn left into the bitumen Wairewa Rd which is well marked. Drive 6km. Turn left at the CFA shed into Trevaskis Rd. Dirt road. Drive 250 m. Turn right into Lemon Hill Rd. Stay on this for 1.5 km. Our gate is the only one on the right and well marked.
